The Open Society Foundation for Albania (OSFA) in collaboration with the Centre for Development and Democratization of the Institutions (QZHDI) has organized the second round table, debating on amendments of the law on the right for information. At the first round table participated representatives of the local and central administration and of the Parliament of Albania, whereas at this second round table participated representatives of the written media, televisions and of the civil society.
The participants have emphasized that the actual situation in Albania – on regards of the right for information – is characterized through an inconsistent implementation of the law 8503, from the obstacles the administration presents reluctant to offer information, from defects of the law itself and from an impressing indifference on the part of the citizens.
The project aims at interventions for legal improvements at the Albanian legislation, through analyzing the legal background on the right for information, through comparing this background with international standards, and through revising, drafting and discussing the legal proposals, as well as lobbying on this behalf.
