The European Union handed over to the Albanian government ‘’The Guideline on Visa Liberalization’’, a document containing the specific objectives to be fulfilled by the government. Stemming from this document ‘’The European Movement in Albania’’, supported by ‘’Soros’’ Foundation and other donors presented the regional project ‘’Is it really important? A facilitation in Western Balkans”. The presentation of this project was simultaneously made in Brussels, Sarajevo, Skopje, Podgorica and Belgrade.

Organizers of this event declared that they shall monitor the problems encountered by the citizens via a free line and an e-mail address. A telephone line shall be put at the disposal of applicants for ‘’Schengen’’ visas, so that the citizens can get consultancy, express their concerns and learn more on procedures of free movement. The telephone number is 04-2253184 (from 10.00 hrs - 14.00 hrs) and the e-mail address is info@em-al.org. These contacts shall serve not only to the individuals, but also to the academicians, and such organizations as travel agencies, sports clubs, artistic associations, and business communities.

A group of interviewers shall facilitate filling out of a detailed form for the Albanian applicants in the consular offices of Germany, Italy, Greece, France and Austria.  A final report shall be published and put at the disposal of the dicision-makers in the capitals of the Western Balkan countries and in Brussels providing an analysis of the data received from the information extracted from the above contacts. Realization of this project shall convene together various interest groups, such as representatives from the academia, journalists, representatives of the non-for-profit organizations, business community, students, etc..
