On 3 February 2007 the Movement Mjaft announced the activation of the website
I vote in Local Elections 2007. The site represents a data base of facts regarding the monitoring of the campaign and the promises made by running candidates in local elections 2007. As in the case of the internet website dedicated to the General Elections of July 2005, I vote in the Local Elections 2007 will observe the campaign promises made by candidates running for mayors. It will also supply biographical data, information on election campaign financing and will follow up with the implementation of promises by the winners once they take up the office term.
I vote will monitor the proceedings of municipality councils in 13 towns and will publish quarterly reports with regard to the observance of the inner regulations of the councils’ workings and the scale of implementation of promises made in the election campaign. It will also supply information about assets owned by mayors in all 13 towns.

The importance of this project financed by OSFA in the context of the Network of Open Society for Albania (NOSA) lies in the contribution it makes to the education of citizens to participate in the country’s democratic processes.
