The Agenda Institute, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, the council of agro-business and with the support of the Soros Foundation, has organized in Scutari a round table on the theme: ‘Farmers’ representation in the policy making and its approaching to European standards’.

The round table aimed to informing the farmers and food businessmen on the rules to comply for the exportation of their goods inside European Union. It was as well published a practical brochure trying to raise awareness of the Albanian farmers, regarding the cost control of the production, after any possible trade liberalization.

In conclusion representatives of the Albanian Parliament, of the Ministry of Agriculture, the council of agro-business and other associations of Albanian farmers, have undersigned a memorandum of agreement. The signing parts engaged themselves in using all the normative and institutional frame, regarding information exchange, the acknowledging of European standards, and the participation of the farmers in policy making for the agricultural development of the country
